Data Administrator

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), based in Geneva, is a humanitarian organization that provides protection and assistance to people affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence. It employs more than 20,000 staff and is present in 80 countries. The ICRC regional sub delegation in Pemba is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the following vacancy: 01 Data Administrator.


Context

The Protection Data Administrator’s role is to support the management of information collected both internally and externally to facilitate the ICRC’s protection activities. They are also responsible for implementing current procedures on data protection and to support the management of the Protection file. S/he contributes actively to the daily organization of the protection office.


Job Description

The Data Administrator will support the Delegation’s Data Manager in the management of the protection Database and follow-up of individual cases ensuring proper filing and pre-archiving at Pemba sub-delegation.

More specifically, the areas of accountability and responsibility shall comprise the following:


· Supports data entry into Prot6 database for Protection cases, and their follow-up, collected in the priority zones of the ICRC Pemba Sub delegation;

· Support PFL team to conduct training to NS on data collection.

· In coordination with the Data Manager, promotes and ensures the quality data-management system (Prot6 data controls and checking).

· Supports the FOs and Delegates in performing follow-up of individual cases and ensure that all pending individual cases are followed up promptly and regularly with the NS and within ICRC Delegation

· Checks the relevance and quality of the data collected in the field, and if needed asks FOs and Delegates for additional information/corrections.

· Carries out data processing of Protection information: contributes to the definition of Prot6 data entry procedures and may be asked to update or review working procedures.

· Ensures data entry compliance with the data entry procedures as defined in the relevant Prot6 database data entry procedures.

· May be tasked to provide support to the Protection team in the adoption and the implementation of new protection ICT tools.

· Assists in the identification and training of new Prot6 users, and/or support the training refreshments.

· Contributes to guaranteeing data protection and data security of individuals’ personal data.

· Support the provision of protection statistics and ad hoc figures for internal use and external reporting and under the supervision of the Data Manager carries out data analysis and case reviews.

· Under the supervision of the Data Manager oversees the management of the Protection file

· Performs various office works such as filing, mail preparation and distribution, photocopies, and updates of lists.

· Undertakes filing and archiving tasks in line with standard procedures. Ensures that there is prompt and logical filing of all relevant documentation and individual files in the department.


Profile - Minimum required and Experience:

  • University Degree
  • Knowledge BI (Business Intelligence), SQL, Statistical Programs, Tables (MS Office)
  • Excellent level of English, spoken and written Portuguese
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in similar area
  • Computer knowledge in user's perspective
