Role purpose: Management of Data Centre functionality, ensuring the Vodacom availability, in compliance within Data Centre policies and procedures and business continuity.
Key Accountabilities And Decision Ownership
- Management of Data Centre and BSCs maintenance SLAs
- Management of data centre access, rack space allocation and power feed to new equipment and disconnectivity in decommissioned racks
- Perform regular inspections of power consumption and cooling Efficiency and recommend upgrade where is need, to ensuring that all is operating in compliance with of data centre Standards
- Guarantee the payment of all of monthly electricity and water expenses invoices within the defined deadlines
Core Competencies, Knowledge And Experience
- Technical knowledge of electricity( AC/DC)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of budget planning(Capex & Opex)
- Knowledge of contract management
Must Have Technical / Professional Qualifications
- Relevant degrees or diploma in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar function. Telecom and IT environment will be advantage
- Experience in UPS, Rectifiers, Batteries and Generators
- Project management skills
- Knowledge in software applications MS office and AutoCAD
