The United Nations World Food Programme is hiring a Programme Assistant/monitoring for Chimoio in Manica.

Job Purpose

To perform mentoring and monitoring of activities of WFP’s Social Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) activities within Gondola District, Manica Province, under the GIZ project and support the local health authorities with the implementation of the package of community nutrition interventions(PIN).

Responsibilities

  •  Support in the identification of beneficiaries for the project phases;
  •  Support in establishing processes for the project activities (i.e. purchase of food for cooking activities);
  •  Conduct training of field implementers (maes modelos, activists, APEs, etc);
  •  Participate in training conducted by SDSMAS on activities relevant to the project (i.e. PIN intervention);
  •  Organize and plan activities with field implementers (maes modelos, activists, APEs, etc);
  •  Review and provide feedback to the activity plans of the community stakeholders (APEs, ACSs, and cooking academy facilitators);
  • Supervise the implementation of the SBCC activities to ensure that activities are being implemented with the required quality and provide feedback and support to the field implementers;
  •  Monitor project activities (cooking academy/demonstrations, nutrition education sessions, radio listening sessions, community activities, etc, and input data in a database developed for the project;);
  •  Review data collected by project implementers for SBCC activities and provide feedback;
  •  Input data collected by project implementers them in database developed for the project;
  •  Monitor project activities implemented by government partners and cooperating partners in the communities covered;
  •  Participate in planning meetings for monitoring visits at the community level;
  •  Conduct regular visits (on a weekly basis) to the PIN nutrition sites and report for further advice and timely follow up;
  •  Prepare weekly workplan for the supervisor;
  •  Liaise with cooperating partners and other stakeholders on community engagement activities and ensure alignment with other ongoing activities;
  •  Receive and collate comments and feedback from partners and beneficiaries, to support identifying programmatic issues with a view to fostering efficient operations;
  • Provide guidance for government counterparts and other partners on WFP operational practices, monitoring tools, and methods to support them to complete monitoring tasks and contribute to the visibility of WFP in the coverage areas;
  •  Prepare field mission reports documenting program implementation.
