Duties
Working under the Facility Manager for the Facility Management Section (FAC) at the US Embassy Maputo, the New Embassy Construction (NEC) Maintenance Inspector is responsible for overseeing and inspecting all work performed and preventive maintenance at the NEC, review shop drawings and other construction plans for any repairs and improvement projects and improve policies and procedure to optimize the preventive maintenance program at Post. Incumber also develop statement of work, drawings, and cost estimates for improvements at New Embassy Compound (NEC). Incumbent creates long-term plans and prepare the required documentation for the budgeting, contracting, and permitting of the projects/contracts. Incumbent also serves as a backup to the Repairs Supervisor. Incumbent must be capable of working independently. Incumbent serves as an incidental operator of official vehicles and meets all requirements outlined in 14 FAM 433.
Qualifications and Evaluations
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of five years of progressive responsible experience in a building construction, residential management, or facilities management position in which two of the years should be in project supervision and/or inspection is required.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Architecture, Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is required.
English level IV (Fluent) Reading/Writing/Speaking is required.
Portuguese level IV (Fluent) Reading/Writing/Speaking is required.
