Job Description
Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done. Minor Hotels employees always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their colleagues. Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are:
To plan and manage all preventative maintenance work, new projects, extensions, and renovations.
To comply with all statutory and legal requirements for fire, health and safety licensing and provide all necessary safety equipment required for work to be carried out efficiently and safely.
To continually monitor the responsible use of energy in the hotel, and implement measures resulting in energy cost savings.
To manage the department, in the absence of the Chief Engineer.
Ensure that all maintenance requests are prioritised and are dealt with in an efficient manner, by technically proficient and guest-friendly technicians
He/she ideally should be certified in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
Must be familiar with the operations and priorities of all other hotel operating departments.
Advise other colleagues on Health & Safety rules and processes
Qualifications
At least 3 - 5 year experience in Engineering Department Management
Strong result oriented, people management, and leadership skills
Strong Command in English and Portuguese, communication skill, and computer literate
Strong in analytical, problem solving skills, and execution of work
