Job Summary

 

Efficiencies for Clinical HIV Outcomes (ECHO) is a $209 million project to support the Government of Mozambique’s achievement of HIV/AIDS epidemic control and establishing a sustainable, government-led HIV response by 2023 in provinces where USAID is the primary clinical support partner. The objectives of the project include strengthening the essential public health services for HIV epidemic control at national, provincial, and district level to ensure long-term sustainability of the HIV response, reaching and maintaining 95% HIV treatment coverage and viral suppression in designated geographic regions, ensuring that Mozambique is utilizing the latest evidence for rapid scale up and maintenance of effective HIV interventions, and providing the Government of Mozambique with data, measured findings and recommendations necessary to make key service delivery decisions.

 

Under the supervision of the Strategic Information (SI) Director, the Knowledge Management Specialist serves as the project-wide focal point to coordinate, archive, and disseminate project’s progress, successes, best practices, and lessons learned.

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities

 

  • Works with the SI, technical teams, and provincial teams to identify content to be shared in the ECHO Project Knowledge Management Platform.

  • Works with the KM Digital Health Specialist to ensure that the ECHO Project Knowledge Management Platform is used to effectively maintain regular communication with health facilities, EIs, NGOs, community health workers, DPS and SDSGCAS.

  • Work closely with technical staff to identify project results, stories and successes to summarize  into short briefs or other products for internal and external dissemination, continuously encouraging field staff to document successes with pictures and testimonials

  • Ensures that Project staff follows relevant guidelines for obtaining consent for using pictures and testimonials

  • Manages the project’s Facebook page

  • Serves as the main point of contact for coordinating and organizing communications-related activities, including helping organize meetings and events, press releases, site visits, media interviews and newspaper articles, public services announcements, videos, photography, and beneficiary testimonials

  • Serves as the main point of contact with the USAID communications team

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or other relevant field

  • 4 years of experience in communications, marketing, knowledge management, and /or journalism, preferably in donor-funded development programs.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate information to stakeholders at all levels and using a wide variety of communications approaches.

  • Strong oral and written skills in Portuguese and English are required.


Minimum Qualifications
 

  • ( 4+ ) years of experience OR the equivalent combination of education and experience.
