We are seeking a Tax Accountant, based on a mine site, in Mozambique, for a leading Mining company.
You will be responsible for General accounting function with strong emphasis on tax reporting and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Preparation and submission of monthly VAT returns
- Assist on Tax information for monthly management accounts.
- Assist Vat refund process.
- Assist on calculation of corporate income tax.
- Assist on calculation of deferred corporate income tax.
- Assist on calculation of Tax Asset register for non-allowable depreciation.
- Reconciliation of all Tax accounts on monthly basis
- Dealing will all the correspondence from Tax Authorities.
- Preparing of Tax payments
- Assisting with the tax budgeting and planning processes on tax numbers
- Liaising with finance teams, auditors, tax advisors and authorities
- Perform year-end accruals and prepare the tax provisions.
- Review of all non-deductible expense accounts
- Liaise with Bank of Mozambique on Tax payments and other issues.
- Assist the preparation of Tax numbers for year-end Statutory reporting.
- Support review of tax assessments and liaise with Tax Authority regarding tax disputes.
- Preparing withholding tax information and verify the payments.
- Review accuracy of the accruals and track the payments.
- Others as deemed necessary by the line manager.
Special Features
- At least two years’ experience as a professional accountant
- A flexible, intellectually curious, and resilient self-starter who can work on their own and with an established team.
- Communicate in English and Portuguese
- Knowledge of mining is preferable, but not a prerequisite.
Qualifications
- Completed University degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required
- OCAM member
