Job Summary

Support ABM in reaching its Events goals by helping individuals, communities, businesses and economies progress and grow;

Manage and coordinate all the internal events and sponsorship investment programmes;

Working with MCR teams to ensure alignment to the Absa Group strategy;

Drive and support employee participation across employee programmes and execution of global, regional local programmes;

Manage all Business and Corporate Events.

Guarantee a high level visibility in events sponsored by Absa.

Job Description

Governance, Operations and Integration

  • Manage and address all in-country regional compliance requirements;

Events, Citizenship and Sponsorship Planning and Coordination

  • Support and contribute to guarantee all Sponsorship legal requirements.
  • Support and manage the embedding of all Head Office and regional governance policies and procedures for the function in the region including the Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy requirements as well as the risk and controls for the directly available budget for Sponsorship and Events Management;
  • Support and manage the Brand Proposition and presence at all events and sponsored activities;
  • Know how to evaluate the best options whether budget or other components, taking into account the standards of the Absa Group;
  • Make price analysis versus quality;
  • Execute the plan of internal and external events, seeking solutions that meet the strategic alignment, the group culture and the target audience;

Reporting

  • Provide accurate and timely reports to improve accuracy and speed of reporting;
  • Provide input to the line manager to support with capacity planning to align the completion of all reporting templates;

Stakeholder Management

  • Build trusted and value adding relationships across the country, in a proactive and commercially astute manner;
  • Maintain relationships with the business community, government, regulators and other key stakeholders;
  • Appraise and create meaningful and sustainable relationships with suppliers and related structures through meetings, stakeholder networking events and programme partnerships;
  • Create and promote peaceful and sustainable relationships with all colleagues and internal suppliers specially on managing internal events;
  • Manage and ensure that the reputation and image of Absa Africa is protected at all times, and escalate any issues to the Head: Events and Citizenship, (Country);

Education

Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC): Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
