For USEFM - FS is 06. Actual FS salary determined by Washington D.C. The work schedule for this position is: Full Time (40 number of hours per week)
Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.
Duties
The incumbent serves as a Human Resources Assistant and is responsible for a wide range of tasks ensuring smooth management of operations. Position’s primary duties are in the area of American personnel administration including preparation of diplomatic accreditation paperwork, familiarity with privileges and immunities, administrative support and tracking of visas and extensions, preparing and editing the diplomatic list, drafting and sending travel messages, and answering questions regarding American benefits. Services are performed for all agencies at post. Additionally, handles LE Staff recruitment and program oversight for sections in incumbent’s portfolio, LE Staff administration/performance management, personnel actions and maintenance of records and files, and classification advising and implementation. Performs these HR services for all agencies in incumbent’s portfolio (except USAID) and serves as primary customer service liaison for agency/section supervisors and employees in assigned portfolio. Serves as primary section timekeeper. Supervised by the HR Specialist.
Qualifications and Evaluations
EXPERIENCE: At least two years of progressively responsible experience in human resources or administrative field is required.
Completion of two years of college education is required.
LANGUAGE: Level 4 (fluent) of English (reading/writing/speaking). This may be tested.
Level 4 (fluent) of Portuguese (reading/writing/speaking). Benefits and Other Info
Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Maputo/Mozambique may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.
For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
