A fantastic opportunity is now available for a passionate and organized professional to join the Kisawa Sanctuary as our Human Resources Manager.

 

You will champion all aspects of the Human Resources function and you will be responsible for a suite of HR strategic and generalist duties. With a passion for learning, you will be instrumental in driving employee wellbeing and engagement.

 

The ideal candidate must have must excellent interpersonal skills, strong business acumen, leadership and excellent communication/negotiation skills with a passion for Human Resources. Our HR team needs to be in the heart of conversations and decisions therefore there will be an expectation that the successful candidate will naturally be able to harness relationships with all employees up to Senior Management.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

This is role offers a broad remit of responsibilities and exposure. Your main responsibilities will include:

 

  • Building strong collaborative relationships with senior management and supervisors in-order-to position yourself as their trusted advisor. You will aid decision-making by providing high-quality, business-focused mentoring and advice across all areas of HR;
  • Facilitating change management activities as required in-order-to support our thriving company;
  • Developing and executing a wholistic HR strategy – with particular focus, in the areas of performance management, reward and recognition, and learning and development;
  • Developing and maintaining company policies and ensure ongoing compliance with current legal requirements and Company policies;
  • Leading all employee engagement issues;
  • Working closely with General Managers and Head of functions and provide the necessary support and expertise whenever necessary
  • Leading all recruitment activities for the resort and provide the necessary guidance and assistance where possible
  • Actively support talent reviews, organizational planning, career development, performance management, mentoring and onboarding activities;
  • Participate in or lead broader HR projects/initiatives as required.

 

Required Skills and Experience

 

  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent;
  • At least 5 years of HR experience in the luxury hotel/resort sector with a sound knowledge of local laws;
  • Strong communication skills and experience building strong working relationships with key partners and influencing business decisions;
  • Enthusiasm for working collaboratively across different functions and teams;
  • Strong commercial awareness, business insight and ability to adapt style and approach to suit the situation or audience;
  • Seeks continuous improvement to drive greater efficiencies.
