Summary

The driver/administrative assistant is essential to support the achievement of the Last Mile Supply Chain project objectives. The individual will work closely with the Nampula-based Regional Coordinator to effectively support implementing activities in Nampula, Niassa, and Cabo Delgado. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time.

Vehicles management

  • Control of periodic maintenance and all documentation related to the vehicles;
  • Control of logbooks of the vehicles;
  • Driving the vehicle with prudence following the policy of vehicle use;

Manage and maintain the office file

  • Correspondence and other government-related documentation;
  • Service contracts;
  • All vehicle documentation, including logbooks;
  • Internal and external communications;
  • Other administration documentation as deemed necessary;

Travel Management

  • Elaboration of travel plan and coordination of travel logistics for VillageReach employees and partners
  • Event/Training Logistics: Production of event materials, Room and meal rental, managing payment of per diems to partners;
  • Ensuring proper filing of event/workshop reports in Dropbox;

Office Management

  • Coordinate and control stock management of office consumables
  • Payment Requisitions
  • Carry out payment processes for all fixed expenses and other administrative costs;
  • Requisition payments related to purchases in the province;

Others

  • Management of events related trainings and others in the province whenever necessary
  • Support and participate in other tasks indicated by the Organization;

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum 12 grade
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience

Other Qualifications:

  • Comply with VillageReach’s COVID-19 vaccination policy.
  • Established cultural competency in partnering with racial, cultural and linguistically diverse groups.
  • Demonstrated understanding of challenges with working in rural, underserved and low-income context; experience living in and/or working in a low-income country a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) and comfortable in a fast-paced technical environment.
  • Fluent Portuguese; basic knowledge of English.
  • Valid driver's license

Environment and Physical Demands:

VillageReach has no private offices, employees work in a shared, open environment with task and conference rooms accessible to employees for privacy and meetings. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Due to the time zone differences between our USA office and our Country Offices and location of other global staff, US based staff are expected to be available for early morning meetings starting at 6am. In addition, our Regional Africa based staff and Country office staff are expected to be available for late afternoon/evening meetings up to 6pm.

Benefits

VillageReach has an established compensation structure that is based on the relevant market and internally transparent. The range for this position is USD 9,600 to USD 11,200. We hire people into the established range based on one’s experience and education and considering internal equity. We do not inquire about salary history.
