VdE | Gerente de Projeto, Qualidade e Segurança Alimentar | GAIN

The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is seeking a Project Manager, Food Quality and Safety to oversee and ensure effective delivery of Food Safety Quality workstream in Mozambique.  This role will be based in our GAIN Maputo office and is offered on a fixed-term basis of up to 24 months (subject to funding) based in Maputo.

About GAIN

The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is a Swiss-based foundation launched at the UN in 2002 to tackle the human suffering caused by malnutrition. Working with both governments and businesses, we aim to transform food systems so that they deliver more nutritious food for all people. In particular, we aim to make healthier food choices more desirable, more available, and more affordable. GAIN’s mission is to advance nutrition outcomes by improving consumption of nutritious and safe food for all people, especially the most vulnerable to malnutrition.

About the role

GAIN has been in Mozambique since 2010, establishing a country office in 2013.  GAIN Mozambique has always focused on establishing public-private partnerships throughout its portfolio, focusing on large scale food fortification (LSFF), including universal salt iodisation.

As the country portfolios grow, the food safety and quality workstream is being restructured to amplify the range of services and technical expertise provided to government and private sector partners. In line with that need, GAIN is expanding its Food Safety Quality approach to cover other value chains not previously supported. Expecting to mobilise both internal and international expertise, GAIN aims to provide various technical support to improve the overall Mozambique food system (food safety and quality standards).
