Urgently seeking a Mozambican agronomist for immediate employment in a consultant position, working with 3 other consultants and a 15 person extension team, and colleagues from the client, the Fundo Nacional para Desenvolvimento Sustentável of the Government of Mozambique in a pioneering project to develop Agroforestry Systems for Zambezia Province. Project terminates in June 2022, however, a possible extension to the current phase is being considered by the client. Spoken English is preferred, but not essential.

Master’s degree (or equivalent academic qualification) or Bachelor’s Degree in Management/Agriculture with at least seven (7) years of progressive work experience, including at least three years in multi-site, multi-sectorial operations in a complex operating environment. She/he should have proven experience with rural extension and agricultural systems, a good understanding of agricultural value chains and agricultural finance in developing countries, specifically in Mozambique. She/he should have either led or carried out rural development projects and experienced in Extension Agents coordination. She/he should have proven experience in the identification of regional and national markets for agriculture products produced or manufactured in the region, conducting agricultural/rural sector/subsector analytical studies, and/or in planning, design, supervision of agricultural and rural investment operations, including the elaboration of agribusiness investment feasibility studies/food chain analyses/agricultural market studies in developing countries and/or countries in transition.
